Just this past Saturday these two teams met on the Warriors home court and the Lady RedHawks used a strong 4th quarter to pull ahead and win the game. Tonight, it was the 3rd quarter that was the key. The RedHawks jumped out to an early 10-7 lead after 1-quarter, led by Lily Greaves's 8 points. The second quarter saw the Lady RedHawks run into some foul trouble and the Warriors took advantage of the Lady RedHawks misfortune with Lily, Madhu Battula & Emery Collesano all on the bench to take a 27-17 lead into halftime. The Lady RedHawks came out of the locker room after halftime on a mission with some great intensity, attitude and focus and outscored the visitors 15-2 to take a 32-29 lead heading into the 4th quarter. Sophia Alexander sparked the Lady RedHawks with 2 huge 3-pointers and Lily had 4 points to lead the comeback. The 4th quarter was more of a defensive effort as both teams struggled to score, but the RedHawks held their composure, controlled the game and still were able to outscore the Warriors 7-6 to win a very tight game by the score of 39-35. Our ladies were led by Lily Greaves (14 points, 8 steals, 3 assists & 3 boards). Other key contributors were, Sophia Alexander (8 points & 3 steals) in less than a half-of-play and Ella Odgers (7 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists & 1 steal). Madhu Battula had (7 rebounds, 3 assists & 1 steal), Sienna Brown had (5 rebounds, 2 steals & 1 assist) and Savannah Byrum (3 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist) all in the 1st half. Faith Cotton (3 rebounds & 1 assist) & Savannah Schubeck, who played a strong game taking over for an injured player tonight had (3 rebounds & 1 steal). The win raised the Lady RedHawks record to 16-3 overall and 7-0 in the league. The win also was the lady's 14th straight win. The RedHawks finish their season on Tuesday @ home against their archrival, the Troy Colts at 5:30. Great comeback ladies and finish strong. So very proud of all of you!
