The Varsity Ladies traveled to Madison Heights to play the Rams of Lamphere High School on Wednesday in a non-league game. From the start the RedHawks were in control as they outscored the Rams 17-7 for the 1st quarter lead. Katie Malone & Kaitlyn Piggott each had 6 points apiece in the quarter to lead the RedHawks. The 2nd quarter saw the visitors outscore the home team 14-7 to take a 31-14 lead at halftime. Jaya Jackson with 7 points & Ashari Daram's 5 points led the Lady RedHawks. The 3rd quarter was a bit sloppy, but the RedHawks still outscored the Rams 9-4 to take a 40-18 lead heading into the 4th quarter. Laityn Dennis with 4 points and Gabby Bieniek with 3 led the RedHawks. The visitors turned up the defensive intensity in the 4th to outscore the home team 19-4 to run away with a 59-22 win. Ash and Hailey Fellin each had 6 points apiece & Erica Obra had 5 points in the quarter. 9 Lady RedHawks scored in the win led by Ashasri (Ash-A-Three) Daram with (11 points, 7 steals, 4 assists & 2 rebounds) and Kaitlyn Piggott with (10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals & 1 block) in less than a half a game. Other key contributors were, Jaya Jackson (7 points), Katie Malone (5 steals, 3 assists & 1 rebound), Hailey Fellin (3 steals, 3 rebounds & 2 blocks) and Laityn Dennis (3 rebounds & 1 steal) each had 6 points apiece. Gabby Bieniek (5 points, 3 steals, 2 assists & 1 rebound) also helped in the win. The win raises the Lady RedHawks overall record to 16-4. Great job ladies and keep working hard.
