Troy Athens High School

The Lady Redhawks returned to action after a ten-day slow down through Charity Week and mid-winter break and won all four quarters versus non-league opponent Cranbrook. A stingy defense and an improving offense put Athens up 19 – 6 at the half, and an 18 – 1 run in the third quarter put the game out of reach. The final score was 44 – 11. Nine players scored for the Redhawks: Sophia Alexander led with 18 points, Bree Rota had 6, Arianna Saracevic 5, Dita Thaqi 4, Gia Leong 3, and Mallory Colusi, Charlotte Riffe, Sarah Kesto, and Irsa Fjolla had 2 each. Coach Gleason praised the defensive effort of Carmen Cavataio, Irsa Fjolla, Mallory Colussi, and Sarah Kesto and the shot blocking ability of Sophia Alexander.
