By Ron Papuga | Feb 18, 2026 9:41 PM

The JV Lady RedHawks traveled down the road to Madison Heights on Wednesday to face the young Lamphere Rams in a non-league game. The RedHawks jumped out to a quick 14-0 1st quarter lead and were never challenged on their way to a 48-20 victory. Madhu Battula netted (6 first quarter points & 5 steals) and Lily Greaves (4 points & 3 steals) that got the Lady RedHawks to take control of the game. Our ladies had more 1st quarter steals than 1st half total rebounds (13-10). The second quarter was much of the same except that Lamphere did most of their scoring with a 16-13-point total, but the Lady RedHawks still led at the half by the score of 27-16. Lily Greaves (4 points & 3 steals), Sienna Brown (4 points & 2 rebounds) and Briony Esper (3 points, 2 rebounds & 2 steals) led the ladies in the quarter. The 3rd quarter was where the Lady RedHawks really pulled away outscoring the Rams 14-0 to take a 41-16 lead heading into the 4th quarter. Again, Lily Greaves had (6 points, 3 steals & 1 rebound) to lead the Lady RedHawks and Toni Rose Valentino had (3 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals & 1 assist). The 4th quarter was the icing on the cake for our ladies as they again outscored the Rams 7-4 for the final margin. 10 of 12 players scored in the game for the RedHawks and the team had a season high of 35 steals in the game. The RedHawks were led by Lily Greaves with (14 points, 9 steals, 1 assist & 1 rebound). Madhu Battula (7 steals, 1 rebound & 1 assist) and Faith Cotton (5 steals & 1 rebound) both had 8 points apiece. Other contributors were, Sienna Brown (6 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals & 2 assists), Emery Collesano (5 rebounds & 1 steal), Savannah Schubeck (4 rebounds & 1 steal), Ella Odgers (2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals & 2 assists) & Savannah Byrum (5 rebounds, 2 steals & 2 assists). Another wonderful team effort. The victory raises the Lady RedHawks overall record to 15-3 on the year. The ladies return to their home court on Friday to face Southfield A & T in a league contest @ 5:30. Great team effort ladies. Keep working hard and finish strong!
