With the flu bug in Michigan being very high, the Lady Redhawks welcomed in the Spartans of Livonia Stevenson to Athens Gymnasium who promptly beat up a depleted Lady Redhawks team. 6 ladies were missing from the team because of injury and illness, while 3 more got sick while playing in the game. But, don't take anything away from the Spartans as they were an outstanding team that played hard. The 1st quarter was a competitive one as the Redhawks matched the Spartans shot for shot until the end when Livonia took a 3 point lead after one. Ella Odgers with 6 points and her sister Madelyn had 3 to keep the game close. But, that's as close as our Lady Redhawks got as the Spartans picked up the pace and pressure enroute to a 30-14 halftime lead. Both teams came out flat in the 3rd quarter scoring 6 points apiece as the Spartans led 36-20 heading into the final quarter. Again, the Lady Spartans extended their lead in the 4th and ran away with a 50-27 win. Aleen Ahmad (7 points & 5 boards) and Faith Cotton (7 points & 2 steals) led the Lady Redhawks. Ella Odgers (6 points & 4 rebounds), Madelyn Odgers (5 points & 5 rebounds) and Sienna Young with 5 rebounds were the key contributors for the Lady Redhawks. The loss drops the ladies record to 2-3 overall. Keep working hard ladies and get healthy.
